Welcome to Your New Parish Council Year

At our Annual Meeting in May, Councillors elected Cllr Clive Stringer as Chairman and Cllr Brian Silvester as Vice‑Chairman for the coming year. We also welcomed four newly co‑opted Councillors — Colin Baines, Kevin Birkby, Ricky Faddes and Leroy Hickson — meaning all Parish Council seats are now filled.

Valley Brook – Safety Concerns

We continue to press Cheshire East Council regarding the long‑standing erosion issues on Valley Brook. Temporary barriers remain in place, and no progress has been made on the promised works. The Parish Council has now commissioned a health and safety report and will seek three quotes for the necessary repairs. We will also write formally to Cheshire East Council and, if required, offer financial support to ensure this important safety issue is resolved.

Peak Cluster Pipeline

Councillors recently attended a briefing on the proposed carbon dioxide pipeline that may pass through the northern part of our Parish. Given the cost, safety concerns and impact on future land use, the Parish Council will be submitting formal objections to HM Government, Peak Cluster and Cheshire East Council.

Local Projects and Planning

A planning application is expected shortly for a small solar farm at Bradfield Green, designed to supply electricity to Bentley Motors.  Work also continues on the Community Hub, with developers now in discussions with Cheshire East Council on the next stage of the planning process.

How We Support You

We are progressing a refreshed programme of Parish works, with a new Working Group now in place to move projects forward. We continue to invest in the community, including grants, improvements to green spaces, and support for local initiatives across the Parish.

We have also installed six litter bins in the Woolstanwood area, to help keep the area as tidy as possible.

Forthcoming meetings of the Parish Council, commencing at 7.00pm:

  • 27 July 2026, St Peter’s Hall
  • 28 September 2026, Mablins Lane School
